The language of Lines

THE BOOK

The Language of Lines: Ordering Chaos is a creative exploration book built around geometric form, pattern and colour.

Each page presents a structured arrangement of lines and shapes, offering a space where creativity can develop through colour choices and individual interpretation.

More than a traditional colouring book, the work explores the relationship between structure and expression — how order can provide a foundation for imagination, experimentation and visual discovery.

The geometric designs encourage observation, pattern recognition, spatial awareness and creative decision-making, making the book suitable for adults, families and curious minds interested in exploring form and colour.

ABOUT UMI WILDE

Umi Wilde explores the relationship between line, geometry, pattern and colour through creative design.

The Language of Lines project began from an interest in how simple structures can develop into complex visual systems. Through repetition, balance and variation, geometric forms become a framework for exploration and interpretation.

The work considers the connection between structure and creativity — how boundaries can create possibilities, and how individual choices can transform a shared starting point into something unique.

Through books, colouring sheets and future creative projects, Umi Wilde continues to explore the possibilities held within line, form and colour.
